The Strides.

Summer Sounds, A World of Music is a one day mini-festival to celebrate traditional and contemporary music at Four Winds’ stunning amphitheatre, 8km south of Bermagui on the Far South Coast of New South Wales.

On Saturday January 27, fresh voices representing emerging sounds from our own backyard will share the stage with visiting artists in a celebration of rhythms from around the world.

The line-up includes The Strides’, who have forged a truly global sound from foundations in classic roots reggae who return to a solid local following. Artistic Director James Crabb brings together a group of outstanding musicians, featuring Yasukazu Kano (Bamboo Flutes), YuNiOn (Taiko) with Graham Hilgendorf and Masae Ikegawa, Kade Brown (Piano) and Sam Martin (Double Bass). The Sweet Valentinos are a south coast band with ragged rural rhythms and dreamy beatnik undertones. Cheryl Davison, Gadu, 2017, linen fabrics and bush fibres.

As the waters mingle so do artists, stories, data, history and ideas in response to place – between the sacred mountains of Gulaga and Mumbulla. Fresh Salt aims to raise community awareness about ecological and cultural significance of the estuaries of the Far South Coast of NSW / Yuin Country through the power of art.

Eden Whale Festival

Friday 2nd November, 2018 - Sunday 4th November, 2018

Whale tails in Merimbula on the Sapphire Coast

Whales play on the Sapphire Coast.

It’s an oceanic migration like no other, and Eden has been an important part of it for centuries.

Celebrate the Humpback Highway with sightings from sea and shore, performances, exhibitions and music, and feast on local produce while whales play in Twofold Bay.

Held in and around the port, the festival embraces our maritime and bush heritage and celebrates with a huge party and fireworks on the Saturday night.

It’s the most unique whale watching experience the nation has to offer, and one that Australian Geographic ranked number one for whale watching destinations in Australia in 2014.

The whales can be seen in large numbers in the town’s stunning Twofold Bay, whether you are in a boat or on shore with a picnic of local produce.
